An End to March...

On Tuesday, we spent the day with Elias and Ianna. Those two children are so good, and such a joy to have in our home. Elias is about 7 and half months younger than Gracie, and Ianna is almost 2 months older than Eli. So, when they are together it's almost like having 2 sets of twins!

Now for the 3 little piggies.

This little piggie has strep throat...
This little piggie did her own make-up...
And this little piggie is becoming quite the crawler...
(not sure why he looks so yellow... he's really not)

And here is Gracie's greatest rendition of "Hey Soul Sister" by Train.

(She even does that little hip wiggle that he does in the video!)

And if you click above for the official video... you may be fooled into thinking that you see Howie Mandel, it's not... but don't they look identical!

And we have lift off!

This video is a few weeks old. But, it's Eli finally beginning to move forward!

This Cupcake Is Four!

Gracie turned four! (Not the giant cupcake... ewwww)

I have been planning and preparing for this birthday. I got a great idea off of Frugal Girls for a wrapped candy bar party favor... so I tackled this project with M&Ms.

Then, I decided that I really want to make my kids birthday shirts... so a trip to Michael's was on the to-do list and tada.... my final project.

The cake. The GIANT cake. When all was said and done... 2 cake mixes, 2 puddings, a container of sour cream, 2 bags of chocolate chips, 8 eggs, more oil than I would like to mention, and water.... yields: One giant cupcake plus 24 (normal) cupcakes! Oohhh, and the chocolate shell, yes I mastered that too. We got to cut into this bad boy after singing "Happy Birthday" with Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Greg via Skype. Here are her presents from Daddy, Mommy and the boys.
Now, rewind to earlier in the day (sorry I didn't put these pictures in the right order). Gracie had a play date/ party with some of her best friends. Play-Doh, Pizza, and Cupcakes make for a great way to start your birthday especially when you share them with others that enjoy them just as much!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CUPCAKE! YOU'RE 4!!

Quick update...

I need to quickly update my blog. Since the last time I blogged I have been cleaning and organizing clothes and dressers, since it is consignment sale time. Which is one of my favorite shopping experiences... and it is an experience! I would hope that if you're reading this that you are familiar with consignment sales. But, if you're not basically they are HUGE used clothing sales for children, usually held in a Church gym or High School gym/ cafeteria. In the fall I'll be consigning lots of baby things... and boy do I have lots!

The most important update however is that we had a great visit with our friends from Indianapolis, Hap and Elizabeth. They have two sweet boys that played great with our children too. It was such a nice visit and catching up never seemed easier!

My little guy....

Eli went in yesterday for his 9 month checkup. The greatest topic of discussion was his weight. If you've seen Eli then you know that he is a little guy, but I've never thought twice about it since he looks healthy and he wears the appropriate size clothing for his age.

His weight: 17.3 pounds. (20th percentile)

His weight may have went up since his 6 month appointment but the percentile had went down. Which means that he is not gaining enough weight... hence he needs more calories.
We go back for a weight check the end of April, if the percentile continues to go down.... I will need to supplement with formula. Which I am more than happy to do... it's just trying to give that boy a sippy of milk is rather difficult, and this is the same milk he drinks everyday Mine! I can't imagine trying to introduce something else.
In the meantime I'm just praying he begins to nurse better and eat more... bring on the pounds!

Happy 11th Anniversary...

Thanks to my most fabulous friend Miss Dana and her hubby Adam, Bryant and I enjoyed our Eleventh Anniversary dining without any children! I'm still a bit of a wuss and couldn't bring myself to order anything unusual. So, I dined on a Cesears Salad, Ribeye and Creme Brulee. While Bryant was feeling adventurous and had Swordfish for the first time, and a Pear Tart. I will say that he ordered Calamari and I did taste it... I actually kinda liked it, but felt that one bite was more than enough for me.

A second word in the little ones vocabulary...

Eli has extended his vocabulary to include, "Mmmm, Mmmm, Mamamamamama..." . Even though he only calls for me when he's hungry or tired (and those two usually go hand in hand), I'm just glad to be acknowledged. "Dada", however must be funner to say since every time he says that little word he's grinning from ear to ear! ;)
