How does your garden grow?

Mix tomatoes, peppers, beans, squash, radishes and dill with some soil and lots of love from one little boy AND hopefully the result will be successful! We'll let you know soon enough!

About a week and a half ago, during Spring Break we were at the Air and Space museum at Dulles. While there we saw the space shuttle Enterprise. We learned that the Enterprise was going to be moved to a museum in New York to make way for the Discovery arriving soon. Soon, was the only indication of a time frame. Well, soon meant today. These are pictures of Shuttle Discovery flying over Belvoir. And we missed it!! I had heard yesterday that it would be visible today, but didn't pay attention to the time frame. I also was expecting it to be MUCH higher then it actually was. I can't believe we missed it, the kids would have loved seeing this. Oh, well here are still some great pictures from some other Belvoir residents.

Gum Grafting...

Gum Grafting. Not one of life's most enjoyable experiences. In fact, Friday night I remember thinking that I would rather have another baby then have this done again. Mostly because having a baby doesn't mess with your ability to eat. And I do enjoy eating.

I remember a dentist years ago, telling my parents that I would need to have my gums grafted someday. Well, Friday was that day. I was so nervous, there was a lot of anxiety going on that day for me. I am not a fan of the dentist. Which is really quite ironic knowing the amount of work that I've had done over the past 10 years. Even getting my teeth cleaned every 6 months, really makes me cringe. But, anyways, Friday I had my first (and not final) gum grafting. Friday was not an enjoyable day after the procedure, there was a lot crying. But, I awoke Saturday feeling a lot better. And as long as I take my Motrin when needed, I do just fine. I'm able to eat somewhat normal food, just cut up real small as though I am giving it to Eli. Bryant left for L.A. on Saturday, the day after the procedure, which I was really scared about, but we are doing just fine. I am definitely not looking forward to the next procedure (whenever that is). But, one thing is for sure... I will warn the dentist that after my first procedure on Friday that I passed out at the reception desk. It may be best to give him a heads up that my head will probably be going down.

KC Royals...

KC Royals is the name of Nathan's Little League team. This year he is playing machine pitch which is quite a bit different from last years T-ball.

Saturday morning began with Opening Ceremonies at the 21st St. Complex. A baseball tradition. Each time goes out on to the field, quotes the Little League Pledge, and catches their home ball from the Garrison Commander. There are also several speeches and lots of clapping. Following the ceremony is each teams first game.

Spring Break...

Spring Break was filled with gorgeous weather and lots of family. Perfect.

Monday: company arrived

Tuesday: Nathan's birthday. We tried to go to Mount Vernon, but it was just too busy. So, we settled on a game of bowling in the afternoon.

Wednesday: Bryant took mom, dad, Jennifer, Jonah, Julia and Nathan downtown to tour the White House followed by lunch at Potbelly's. Greg flew in Wednesday night.

Thursday: Dress shopping with mom and Jennifer. Jeremy flew in Thursday night.

Friday: In the morning the gang all toured the USS Barry, which was right up dad's ally. It is a Navy destroyer at the Washington Naval Yard. In the evening after dinner, we went downtown and walked around the monuments all lit up at night.

Saturday: After dance and baseball in the morning, we headed over to the Dulles Air and Space Museum.

Sunday: Easter service at church followed by dinner and an egg hunt.

Monday: everyone headed back home.

It was such a busy and fun week. Can't wait til we are all together again in June for Andrew and Chelsey's wedding!!
