"What are you eating"...

Last night after the kids were in bed, Bryant turned on the football game while I finished reading my book. From upstairs we could hear a little girls voice claiming that she needed to go potty. So, up the stairs I trotted. The first thing she says to me is, "What are you eating?". My answer, "Mommy's eating nothing". That answer didn't work though because she could smell it very distinctly, so again, "What are you eating?". My answer, "Mommy's eating nothing, but daddy has popcorn.". Immediately, her eyes lit up, "me eat popcorn too!". At which I told her if she went potty then she could have some. I even tried to trick her after she went potty when I put her diaper on her by saying, "OK, now let's go get in bed". "No, mommy I eat popcorn."

So, here's her late night snack with daddy. There was no cheering "Go Titans!", since they lost pretty bad. Gracie is usually a pretty avid Titans cheerleader but, last night all she could do was sulk in her dish of popcorn.... right next to daddy.

While Oktoberfest is rather popular for brats and beer, we go for the rides and the funnel cake!

A Wonderful Encounter...

The Jolliff Family is in Virginia this weekend for a wedding and we had the opportunity last night to share a meal and play catch-up. We discussed everything from potty training to planning the marriage of our children while devouring some Bar-B-Que at one of my favorite places to eat. Plus we got to meet the newest member of this great family, baby Andrew.

So, glad we had this wonderful encounter!

Nathan was stil talking about how happy he was to see them this morning. His only regret: that he didn't get to go fishing with Hap! Sorry buddy, maybe next time.

Safe travels back home to Indiana, hopefully we'll see you again soon!

As The Weather Cools Down, Things Heat Up...

Our mornings start out in the 50's and by afternoon it usually hits in the 70's. My kids are actually excited to be able to wear pants now... kinda weird, huh?! And we did a little fall decorating around the house, which was very exciting.

And today it is official: there is a lock box on my front door. Yes, this house will be on the market by tonight. And according to the realtor the market here sounds so different compared to when we sold our house in Indianapolis a little over a year ago. Busy, busy, busy. We should know within the first 2 weeks whether this house has enough traffic to sell. In Indy, I don't think there was even one person that viewed our house in the first 2 weeks. And our experience in Indiana was about 1- 2 showings a week, the realtor said to expect 1-2 a DAY! Thank goodness, it is not us this time doing the selling, I just have to handle the cleaning! And with 2 children.... that will not be a fun job. Since we rent this house, we are looking to either rent again or more than likely purchase a house/ townhouse. This is why I said things are heating up! So, if you all could lift a prayer up for our family during this time, that would be great!

Gracie's Cut...

Yesterday we headed to the mall, so that Bryant could check out a special he heard on suits. After grabbing dinner at Chick-Fil-A, I took Gracie to Cartoon Cuts and she received her first hair cut by a professional. I told them not to touch the bangs... we're growing them out.

In this picture she reminds me SO much of my mom.

Pirate Days...

"Know what today is mommy?.... it's my big day! I'm a pirate today!"

At preschool today Nathan had his Pirate Day. The highlight of the day was a treasure hunt around the church looking for.... treasure!

Every good and mighty Pirate starts off the mornin' with pancakes, strawberries, and bananas.

"Down da hatch!"

Don't let looks be deceiving.... while the pirate made it aboard the good ship minivan, the rocket launcher did not. After all, it wasn't that type of pirate day.... there were no Navy vessels involved.

He wanted a peg leg for the occasion.... we kinda thought that would create some legal problems, so decided against it.

Gracie too had to try out her good Pirate voice for the day.

"Aaargh!"

Time to go now and "swap the deck".

It's Been a Long Week...

or maybe it was just packed full and today is our day to stay home and go no where! It seems that all week we just ran from here to there; preschool, church, grocery store, library, dentist.... I've been looking forward to Friday, the day that had nothing scheduled on the calender. Seriously on Wednesday, I can't even tell you if we were home at all! Which in reality is a nice change, to see some order and schedule come into our household this Fall does bring a little bit of joy. It just also makes the week fly by. So, here's some main highlights:

• Nathan had his first Dentist appointment this week! And he loved it and can't wait to go back in March.

• I on the other hand had a cavity filled this week, and did not love that or the feeling that it left on my jaw for the remaining of the day!

• I've started Thursday morning Bible study, "Experiencing God".

• And our wireless adapter for the computer has decided to croak this week (we didn't even have it a year yet), which meant a family trip to Best Buy. I went to monitor his spending and he wasn't worried that I would be throwing stuff in the cart... little did he know! I've been dying for that Surgar Land CD. And the kids loved watching Cars on a TV larger than they'll probally ever see in this house.
